I was watching Benjamin Button a few weeks ago, and Ben said something simple: "You never know what's coming for you."

Today I am achy and I am miserable. Some sort of infectious pathogen has invaded my body causing my head to feel slightly heavier on the right side. My throat has acquired some demonic torch that spits out cruel, unnerving flames whenever I swallow. My neck hurts and I know my eyes have a sullen, sunken look that just exude "defeat! defeat!." I have not yet taken off my coat because I am simultaneously cold and tired-- any extra effort to move at this point is strenuous. So I succumb to sickness and a night to myself-- I am too weary to consider picking up school work or go out with friends.

You never know what's coming for you.

I am rarely ill and I realize that my moping and whining is most likely unnecessary; however, hitting the wall really makes you stop and reflect (or at least it makes you stop). We're all on a collision course, and I'd like to think that's not such a bad thing. Though it might be a flaw to dwell in possibility, it's fun to think of what or who you will run into next. Any one person can change your life, and any one decision can alter your future. While the one constant of life is that it is unknown, you put on your shoes every morning and choose to revel in or dread the fact that you don't know what's coming for you. It could be anything. And that can be exciting.
